This may be the most unusual hamfest we've ever attended. Super nice folks (not that unusual), everything was outside (not that unusual), and everything was free (highly unusual).
By "everything", I mean tables were free. Lunch was free. Admission was free. Homemade deserts were free.
This takes place at a very nice public park, at a pavilion at the end of a dead-end road. Clean restrooms are nearby. The tables lined the gravel road, and maybe a dozen flea market tables of one sort or another popped up around 8 AM. Most folks literally operated from their tailgates. Lunch ( fabulous pulled pork, slaw, and all the traditional fixings) was served at noon, and the homemade desserts alone made the trip worthwhile.
The hamfest shut down around 1:30 or 2:00, and we all headed home.
This is a brief but fun hamfest, and well worth the trip for us. We look forward to returning next year.
