The Huntsville Hamfest was August 16/17, 2025, in the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Al. As usual, the hamfest was well run, well organized, and all the hosts were friendly. as soon as we arrived to load in, the bevy of hamfest volunteers showed up to help us unload and carry stuff to our tables.
The event space opened Friday morning for load in and set up, and by late afternoon most of the tables were occupied.
Friday night folks got together at 88 Buffet, a Chinese buffet dinner place. The designated room was full, with spillover into the main dining room.
Saturday morning we parked in the parking garage, and by opening time we had tables uncovered and ready to go. The crowd was large all day Saturday, with a lot of lookers. Sunday was a much smaller crowd, but that allowed more time for visiting. Overall, there were nearly 6,000 attendees.
Loading out Sunday was easy, we just packed, and pulled the car up to the tables. The hamfest crew guided us in and out, and they waved as we left the building.
The 2026 Huntsville Hamfest will also be the ARRL Convention, so it will be larger than ever.
If you can make only one hamfest in 2026, make it Huntsville.

Yes, that is indeed a Yaesu VL-1000 amp, just waiting for the new owner to pick her up.

Everyone's buddy, Steven Pan, dropped by to say hi. He's now with Gigaparts, and he hasn't changed a bit.

Our favorite t-shirt at Huntsville. "Not bossy, just aggressively helpful."
