This handy talkie adapter is made from a solid brass body that is precision machined and plated with black chrome for superior performance and value. This UHF female to SMA female handy talkie adapter has a PTFE dielectric and a gold plated brass center pin. The UHF female side (also known as a SO-239 connection) is by far the most popular connection type used in amateur radio. The SMA female side’s jack and exterior threads provide a sub-miniature and tight-locking connection for use at higher frequencies. This UHF female to SMA female handy talkie adapter has a strain relief skirt and is perfect for adapting and protecting the internal SMA male connector on your handy talkie radio.
This will work on any handheld radio with a female SMA antenna jack, such as Baofeng, Wouxun, some Yaesu, some Icom, and others. To see if this will work for you, unscrew and remove your existing antenna, and look at the antenna jack made into the radio. If it has a hole in the center (i.e., no pin is sticking up), this will work for you.
A great feature of this adapter is the SMA-side connector, which has a wide base. When screwed onto the radio, the base spreads the stress of the connection across the radio body, and not on the radio connector itself, greatly reducing the stress on the radio antenna connector. This reduces the chance of side-stress damage to the radio.
These connectors are NOT made in the PRC (i.e., mainland China or it's territories).
