Regular price $175.00 $0.00 Unit price per

RCA ship's radio (shore radios were different) made for the US Navy in the 1950s, the R-441-A is pretty close to bullet-proof.  This weighs 77 pounds, and includes the front panel handles.

This specific radio is serial number 6.  Yes, 6.

This unit has had the power cable replaced with a modern plug for a common IEC (computer) AC cable. Photos show the swap.

The previous owner collects military radios, and he told me he did operate this receiver and receive stations with it.  I powered it up on a Variac, and after an hour's warm-up the dials lit up brightly at 110V and I got atmospheric static and a hum through the phones.  No stations were received.

It appears to be original other than the power cable change, the addition of an RCA jack on the back,  and one newer SO-239.

NO SHIPPING ON THIS HEAVY RECEIVER, LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.  I'll be glad to hold this for you, after payment,  as long as three months to allow you to arrange pickup.

Due to its age, this is being sold as is, where is, no warranty, and no return.   I'll be glad to answer any questions, as far as I can.
