Radio Shack Pro-2051 Scanner 2M, Fire, Air, Railroad, CB, HF, Trunking, See Video
I was surprised by how much air traffic there is that can still be monitored, despite almost all of our local agencies moving to a statewide digital comms system. This one small scanner will scan over 1,000 channels, and it has 150 preset channels. Just select the state you are in, and it will scan preset frequencies for fire, railroads, aircraft, National Weather Service, HF amateur frequencies, marine traffic, and CB. Has abuility to do trunking. Comes with mounting bracket.
The scanner comes as shown, with a power supply, and no antenna.
The antenna connects to a female BNC connector on the back, and pretty much any antenna will work. The success you have on various bands will depend on the antenna you choose. A longwire antenna (30' or more of wire strung outside) is the most flexible option. The longer the wire, and the higher the wire, the better the reception. 15' of thin wire 10' off the ground will get results, 100' of 12 gauge stranded copper wire 35' off the ground will get better results. The attached video is showing the scanner connected to a 2 meter Yagi antenna 16' off the ground, so almost anything will work to some degree.
The manual for theis with all the specs can be found at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/137737/Radio-Shack-Pro-2051.html .
