Personal testimony: My old dual band mobile antenna gave up the ghost recently with an SWR of 12-13. I replaced it with a new VU-1510B, mounted it on the CRV roof, and checked the SWR. The reading was around 2.0, so using the included Allen wrench, I adjusted the whip length just a bit, and the new reading was 1.3. The photo of the analyzer is my new VU-1510B on my hamfest ride. I simply passed the coax between the door and the body of the CRV on the passenger rear door at the top, no holes to drill, and it works like a champ. The weatherstripping closes around the coax and keeps out the rain and damp.
