MFJ-994BRT HF 600W Remote Antenna Autotuner, Factory Display

If you ever saw the MFJ manufacturer's display at a large hamfest (i.e., Orlando, Dayton, Huntsville, etc.), this was part of their display.   This is an MFJ-994BRT remote antenna autotuner.  The bottom is the original opaque black plastic, and the top is a custom clear plastic with the large letters "MFJ" embossed in the top.  The black part of the case (the bottom) has one tiny screw hole on each of two sides where a security bracket was attached for the hamfest display.

The build date on this chassis is 4/2/2013.  This was pulled from the production line in a finished state, the clear top added, and placed in the display, according to the folks at MFJ.  It has been riding around the country going to hamfests, and has never been sold or put into service.  

This is a one of a kind unit.  It may make a great remote tuner, or, thanks to the clear top, a great conversation starter for your ham shack or hamfest booth.   It is being sold as is, no warranty, no return.  When this one is gone, there will not be another clear-top 994BRT like it available, ever. 

I took photos inside and outside, trying to get the best views possible.   Please look at the photos closely.

Just to summarize what was said above:  This is a demo/display unit.  It has not been tested or used by me or anyone else.  Nobody has touched the actual board since it was built in 2013.  There is no warranty, no return.   These are the photos of the actual unit being sold.   There is not, nor will there ever be, another one exactly  like it.

An MFJ-4117 Bias Tee is included with this (not pictured, but included).

GENERAL NOTE ABOUT FACTORY DEMO/DISPLAY UNITS:

NEW (OPEN BOX): This is a new unit, in that it has never been sold or placed into service.  This is a fully-functional unit that was used as a static display either in MFJ's offices or as part of MFJ's hamfest display booth.  As such, it may have cosmetic scuffs or scrapes on the cabinet, it may have some extra, tiny holes (usually two at the most) in the cabinet from security brackets on the hamfest displays.  Hamfest displays often had a "show sticker" applied to the cabinet.  If so, those have been removed, and there may be some adhesive residue left where the sticker once was.  Goo-Gone and rubbing with a thumbnail will usually remove all or most of the residue.  The residue is a cosmetic thing only.  Some case screws may be missing, or may be mismatched.  

The photos here are of the actual item being sold, not "stock" photos.  Please look closely at the photos, as those are the best guide to the cosmetic condition of the cabinet or case.  If you'd like, you can always repaint the cabinet with readily available matte-finish black paint.  

As a demo/display unit, there is no factory warranty, but there is a 30 day warranty from FatCat.Parts on items sold as New (Open Box). Warranty does not cover cosmetics, it covers only the functionality of the item.  No factory packaging or paperwork is included.

PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY: If the unit is listed as Parts Or Repair Only, then there is no warranty. Parts Or Repair Only is used when we either have no idea about the functionality of the item, or we know there is a defect.   Known defects are alwasy spelled out in the listing.   Often items sold as Parts Or Repair Only work fine if placed into service, but there is no guarantee that will be the case.  It does happen, but I wouldn't rely on that when buying Parts Or Repair Only items.  No factory box or paperwork is included.

On all demo/display units, what is being sold is what is seen in the photos.  If it is not in the photos, it is not included, unless the listing specifies it is included.
