Kenwood TM-261 2M (144 MHz) Mobile Transceiver, Mic, SEE VIDEO

This Kenwood TM-261A sends and receives really well, please see the video to see and hear it in action.  Good audio, coming and going.  However, this radio has some issues, and I'll describe them below.

First, and this can be seen in the video, the display (which is complete and displays all info just fine) has a gray background.  It should be orange, but this one is gray, which usually means a connection issue between the display and the ribbon cable.  Not always, but usually.  If you don't like gray, this can be put back to orange with some tinkering.  The important thing is, all the text/numeric images are there, and they are strong and sharp (a subjective opinion, but I think accurate).

Next, the volume control is a bit scratchy, so it most likely needs a to be cleaned.

Last, and I discovered this after doing a full reset, the tuning knob performance is flaky.  It works intermittantly.  This is a "need to remedy" thing, just to avoid the annoyance of doing the same thing over and over until the tuning control cooperates, if nothing else.

The volume knob had a crack (this can be seen in the video), which I repaired with some Loctite Extreme Glue.  Just a tiny bit applied with the point of a toothpick, applied to one side, the two halves went back together, the steel insert went back in, and it dried 24 hours before reinserting it onto the volume shaft.  Not a big thing, but if you see the crack in the knob in the videos, look at the photos, and it is gone.

I also didn't dust the radio before making the video, so it looks dirty.  I intended to make sure it transmitted and received okay, so I went to a little-used repeater, threw out my call, and was surprised to get an immediate answer.  I went ahead and did the video, so you're seeing it uncleaned, warts and all.  The audio is made using the Kenwood internal speaker.

The original microphone is included, and from what I can tell, it works just fine.  I didn't try the keypad or up/down buttons, but it's the mic I used in the short video.
