Kenwood MC-60 battery Holder/Tray, Improved Design, WARRANTY

The original Kenwood battery holder in the base of the MC-60 microphone stand had contacts that were solder onto the outisde of the holder.  This improved version has longer leads, and they are hard crimped inside the holder, away from potential damage.

These holders usually fail becuase the battery springs create so much pressure the plastic ends of the holder break from the pressure.  These holders are guaranteed one year from date of purchase to not break.   

You don't have to have a receipt to claim the warranty, just return the defective holder to us, and include your site user name.  We will send the replacement to the same address the original battery holder was sent to.   Easy!

This is easy to replace.  Remove the six screws on the bottom of the MC-60 stand.  Pay attention, as the two screws on one end are shorter than the other four, and they need to go back in the same place.  Remove the bottom panel of the stand.  Using your cell phone, take a refernce photo on the inside of the base, showing the orientation of the red and black wires.

Unsolder the original holder (two small solder joints), and slide a flat blade under the old holder, twist gently, and the double-back tape will break loose.  Solder the red and black leads back to the same locations, and attach the new holder in the same place as the older holder using a piece of double-back carpet tape.

Reassemble, and you are good to go.
