Icom IC-22A 2M VHF Mobile Transceiver, See Video And Photos
This is an Icom IC-22A 2M transceiver, built in Japan in the late 1970s. High output is 10 watts, low output is 1 watt.
This radio was connected to a 2M Yagi outside antenna for testing. None of the crystal frequencies correspond to repeaters in my area, so no QSO was made. This was connected with alligator clips to a 12V Kenwood power supply.
The squelch and volume work fine, and the meter appears to respond to PTT as it should on both low and high settings. The external speaker jack works as it should.
The meter lamp does not light up. The green receive lamp did not work when tested. There is a crack/defect in the center of the meter cover, visible in the photos. The factory 2-prong plug has been removed, so power is via separate wires, black and red.
The top has what appears to be old duct tape residue on it, my fingernail takes it off easily. The new owner can clean that up. Microphone is not included. The mic I used was one of my "not for sale" test mics.
Since this transceiver does have some known issues (see above), it is being sold as is, for parts or repair only. Expect some repairs to be needed to make it 100% as it used to be.
Photos are exactly what you will receive. Again, mic is not included.
Operates 144 MHz to 148 MHz, depending on which crystals are installed.
The original owner's manual for this is available online on the Icom website, as well as a few other sites.
This will ship safely and quickly from Mississippi.
