Heathkit SB-300 SSB/CW/AM Receiver, Works Well, See Video

This is a very clean Heathkit SB-300 receiver, SN 662 8104A.

Tubes were checked and tube sockets were cleaned, tubes reseated. No cleaning of controls was done, and no other parts were replaced.  It was powered up the first time over a multi-hour period using a Variac to protect the capacitors.

I have operated this receiver multiple times, and the best frequency stability occurs after a 45 minute warmup.  After that warmup, the performance has been rock solid.  The video here shows the receiver operating after only a 20 minute warmup.   The video was done in Mississippi  just before noon on a weekday, and I heard stations in Iowa, Colorado, Canada, Arizona, and others. 

This has not been tested connected to a transmitter.  The unit is as it was built from the original kit contents, with no optional features added.  I have not removed the chassis from the cabinet to inspect the bottom of the chassis, since it works so well and has such good audio.

A new AC power cable will be included with this.
