Drake R8 Communications Receiver
Clean for its age, this receiver is being sold as is, for parts or repair, and I'll do my best to explain what is going on here. It's not dead, but it's on life support.
Both external fuses are good.
When plugged up, there is no display. The green Synchro lamp comes on. The power switch does not work, if it's plugged in, it's on. The meter rises and falls with the RF knob, as it should. Both front riser legs are there, and in good shape. The tuning knob spins freely. There is no response to any other button or control on the front panel. There is a low-level hum when it is plugged in.
