Papa Jack's Trade Day is probably the most low-key hamfest held each year. No admission fees, no table fees, just show up, grab a table, and hope for good weather. This year, the weather was dry and pleasant, so our hopes were met. November 2 was the date this year, and as every Mississippian knows, the weather in November could rival a spring day, be a freezing tornado, or something in between.
This used to be held in the parking area of the airport, and now it's held under the pavilion at the farmer's market in downtown Tupelo, next to the train tracks. If a train passes by during a conversation, you just remember where you were, and wait until it passes.
Everything wraps up at noon, and everyone's gone home by 12:30. It's a good chnace to see a lot of friends and meet some new folks.
